Understanding Ghana's Cylinder Recirculation Model

The Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM) is an approach to LPG distribution led by Ghana's National Petroleum Authority. It is designed to improve safety, accessibility and efficiency in how LPG reaches consumers.

Under the model, filled cylinders are made available through designated exchange and distribution points, rather than requiring consumers to refill their personally owned cylinders. Cylinders that come back empty are inspected, maintained and returned to circulation.

The NPA has highlighted safety, improved access to LPG and job creation as important aspects of the CRM transition, and has indicated that the model is being developed alongside efforts to protect existing LPG-sector investments.

Midas Oil & Gas is following these developments closely and is preparing its operations to participate in and support Ghana's evolving LPG distribution system, in line with applicable NPA requirements.
